‘Team Sharrow’ is a series of networking events for on the ground workers in Sharrow who directly or indirectly work with the Sharrow community. The cross-agency Team Sharrow ethos is for workers to feel part of a team that share the common goal of working for the Sharrow community. Organised by Sharrow Partnership and facilitated by ‘Quick on the Uptake’, the events have been all about increasing the confidence of local workers by developing their knowledge of other workers and services in the area.

A whole range of agencies and groups have attended these events including South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, Sheffield Homes, Sharrow Community Forum, Football Unites Racism Divides, Highfield library, Sharrow Surestart, Parent Support Advisors, Health visitors to name but a few and also importantly representatives from the local community. A lot of positive work has sprung from the three events with a unanimous reply from attendees for more events to be planned in the future. Looking at what’s top or not in Sharrow, case studies and swap shops where people can ask for help and offer their services are just some of the exercises and workshops that have taken place so far.  Many new contacts have been made between workers, as well as leading to new partnership working on several new projects.

Although the Sharrow Partnership is finishing at the end of March 2010, good news is on the horizon for ‘Team Sharrow’ as the Central Community Assembly have agreed to support a ‘Team Sharrow 4’ in May of this year.
